Mr Keum Gi Hyung
Director-General, International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (ICHCAP)
Mr Keum Gi Hyung is currently taking the steering wheel of the International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific region under the auspices of UNESCO (ICHCAP), Republic of Korea. Before the ICHCAP, Mr Keum mainly served on the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as Bureau Chief of the Tourism Policy Bureau. Mr Keum worked for two years in Bangkok as a UNESCO programme specialist for culture and tourism, and three years in Hanoi as the Director of the Korean Cultural Centre to Vietnam. He studied social research methods at the graduate school of the London School of Economics and received a Master’s in Political Communications at the Leicester University, United Kingdom. He has also contributed to the Korean Travel Times for two years as a weekly columnist and published Korean-Vietnamese children books for multicultural families.
