Professor Pier Luigi Petrillo

Professor Pier Luigi Petrillo is a Full Professor of Comparative Public Law at the University of Rome Unitelma Sapienza. He also teaches “Comparative Culture Heritage Law” in the same university and “Lobbying Law” at the University of Rome LUISS Guido Carli and “Cultural Heritage Law” at University of Milan IULM.
Since 2006, Pier Luigi coordinated several Italian and multinational nominations in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, obtaining inscriptions as the Mediterranean Diet, the Art of the Neapolitan Pizzaiuolo or the Traditional agricultural practice of cultivating the ‘vite ad alberello’ of Pantelleria.
Holder of the UNESCO Chair on “Intangible Cultural Heritage and Comparative Law”, and member of the Evaluation Body of the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, Professor Petrillo received the honour of Knight of the Order of the Italian Republic in 2017. In 2018, he was appointed Head of the Cabinet of the Italian Minister for Environment, Land and Sea.
